The International Soil Reference and Information Centre

ISRIC – World Soil Information is an independent foundation and the International Council for Science (ICSU) accredited World Data Centre for Soils (WDC-Soils). Since its established in 1964 through the International Union of Soil Science (IUSS) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), ISRIC produces and serves global quality-assessed, open and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) digital soil data and information for research and development of sustainable land use through its web-based, geo-referenced database and services.

ISRIC is further engaged in enhancing the proper use of soil data and information for global and local development on issues like food security, climate change, biodiversity, water scarcity and increasing awareness and education of soils in major global issues.
