Albanian delegation explores digital farming at AGROTICA 2026
From 12th to 15th March 2026, Thessaloniki hosted one of Southeastern Europe’s leading agricultural events: AGROTICA 2026. The fair brought together companies, institutions, and innovators working across agriculture and the agri-food sector.
Among the visitors was an Albanian delegation including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Agricultural Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) in Fushë-Krujë, and the Albanian Consulate in Thessaloniki. The group also included Phito partner Suela Spahiu, Head of the Seed Production Sector within the Directorate of Agricultural Technologies (ATTC), contributing expertise in integrated farm management.
Exploring the latest in agricultural innovation
The visit focused on discovering new developments shaping the future of agriculture. Apart from advanced machinery and irrigation systems, the delegation also focused on presenting digital tools and smart farming solutions.
By engaging directly with exhibitors, the delegation gathered insights into innovative technologies and sustainable practices that can support farmers on the ground. Meetings with organisers and other institutions also reinforced the value of international fairs as spaces for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Showcasing Phito and supporting farmers
AGROTICA also provided an opportunity to present the Phito project to a wider audience. The project’s work on digitalising agriculture and supporting small and medium farmers through digital advisory services and digital tools was highlighted throughout the visit.
At the same time, ATTC Fushë-Krujë showcased its role in transferring agricultural knowledge and strengthening farmers’ capacities, which is an essential step in making innovation widely accessible and practical.
Why visits to events like AGROTICA 2026 matter?
Participation in agricultural events like AGROTICA helps connect local expertise with international innovation. For Albania, it’s a chance to bring back ideas, tools, and partnerships that can support farmers in adapting to a rapidly changing agricultural landscape.
For Phito, it’s another step in building visibility and strengthening collaboration across borders, while ensuring that digital solutions reach the people who need them most.
