One of the challenges for sure is the climate in the region, which we also experiences ourselves: What we expected to be a quiet talk turned out to become a studio full of noise from the tremendous amounts of rain pouring down on us.
We were very well prepared for everything, but a power cut gave us delay, and the heavy rains turned our proper equipment in a minimum viable set-up for this show.
That didn’t make the session less fun for us, nor for you: get ready for a bit less than an hour of dialogues from local experts, our partners from Europe, and music fitting in the context nicely.
Of course we also take time to meet our partners from Alerce who are currently in the Phito-van en Europe, as well as Hans from Smartfarming explaining the status of development of the app.
Guests on this show are:
• Lyn Baron (Ministry of Physical Planning in Dominica)
• Josh Baron (Ministry of Forestry in Dominica)
• Eugenio Straffelini (University of Padova)
• Remote: Hans Bakker (Development lead, Smartfarming)
• Remote: Lina and Jonas (Alerce Environmental)
Welcome to the Phito Radio Show, where we rethink the future of farming. Here, we share unique stories about food, and food production and talk about how to make farming future-proof. Each show takes place at another wonderful location and hosts a diversity of guests and experts to talk about the area, the landscape, the soils, the food and a theme around sustainable farming in Europe.
Our recipe: a mix of chats, landscapes and food, with a pinch of inspiring guests and a spoon of music.
We challenge you: show us your local food through #phitoradio, and put it on the Phito food table, so together we can discover the fruits of mother earth.
Music in this show:
Here comes trouble – Chronixx
Edge of the earth – Switchfoot
Music used in jingles:
Aura of the Void – Typhoon
Dead Language – Gill Landry
Ave Maria – Caccini
Let’s Drive Baby – PHRASE
