About the Aruba food system.

On Aruba, the agricultural sector consists mostly of (very) small-scale & part-time
farming. While agriculture is marginalised and 99% of food is imported, agriculture is increasingly
promoted as one of the island’s promising economic sectors. Farmers show a movement towards
sustainability, innovation and cooperation with other sectors, such as the powerful tourism industry. Yet,
knowledge of innovative farming techniques is lacking.
