About the Bonaire food system.

Similarly, farming on Bonaire nowadays is largely marginalised (mainly consisting of goat herding, with few horticultural farmers), despite the island being self-sufficient a few decades ago. Farming is less competitive mostly due to the lack of innovative tools (in local Papiamentu language) offering access to the market, agronomic advice and networking.
