Earlier this year, we launched our very first Phito App prototype. This first version was the result of a pretty intense user needs assessment. We went out and asked farmers what an app would actually need to make their lives easier. After loads of questionnaires, feedback sessions, and a very busy development phase… There it was: our first prototype.
Honestly, we’re really happy with how it turned out, even if the first version is still quite limited and only available to our test users. But that’s fine! Because it’s just the starting point. By the end of 2025, we’re aiming to launch the next version with new features, ready for anyone to download.
The Branches Phase: Time for a quick app development update
Right now, the Phito App development is in what we like to call the ‘Branches Phase‘, a time when we get to dream big, explore bold ideas, and figure out which ones have potential. The Phito app will grow, and so will our user community.
Phito is all about helping farmers: with data-driven advice, best practices, and useful digital tools. But Phito is about more than just farming. And especially this phase is all about community. This means that for the current design phase, we’re looking at the entire food system – farmers of course –, but also consumers, service providers, cooperatives, suppliers, retailers… everyone who’s part of the bigger picture.
So what’s on our tables?
That means that our local partners are out there talking to many different people. Their feedback will help shape the next version of the app, especially the Phito Town Square. This special app feature is basically a digital space where the local agri-community can connect, build networks, and strengthen local value chains. It’s also a great place for small-scale farmers to get more visibility and strengthen their position.
We’re super excited about what’s coming, and we’ll be sharing more soon. Make sure to join our journey and sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media.
